Intense personal account of survival against unimaginable brutality. A memoir that should be read by all so such horror may never occur again. Although the world has learned something of this time and vows not to repeat such actions, yet they still occur. This books forces us to confront the potential for evil in all of us. How would one react if society turned against you and your beliefs. What would you do? We now know how one individual reacted. His determination and courage, for me, is to be admired and emulated.
This was a real page turner. I read it in only 1 sitting. Very powerfully written and a testament to man's compassion, man's courage even after the unthinkable has happened to him. Buy it, you won't regret it.
I could not put this book down, I had heard about Night and Elie Wiesel for years, his firsthand account of the Holocaust is chilling, the things he and so many others endured is unfathomable. This should be required reading for everyone. Never again!
I couldn’t give this book anything but 5 stars. It was written with too much pain and way too much loss. This should be mandatory reading for every human being. We must never forget the damage that mans inhumanity to man can do.
A great and powerfully moving book. This edition includes Wiesel's speech after receiving the Nobel peace prize and other talks related to that event. The book also deals with the important topic of denial, which is becoming more and more of a problem as survivors die off and more and more people try to deny that the Holocaust ever happened.
