Not only is this book a wonderful reminder to today's fan of what a bizarre, unique, and fun season it was for the 2015 New York Mets, but its value will only increase as the years go by. Future generations of Mets fans need not wonder what the 2015 season was like. Within these pages, Greg Prince describes in perfect detail what it was like to be a fan during a season no one will soon forget. You read about the doom & gloom that lived and breathed at Citi Field until it's wonderful death-by-Cespedes. You are reminded that, yes, the Mets did indeed seemingly forget how to lose as August turned into September and the Mets ran away with the division. You relive the intense struggle of the Dodgers Series and the unfathomable breeze of the Cubs Series before landing at the World Series, the first to be witnessed in person by the author and described in marvelously authentic detail. I would recommend this book for any Mets fan and encourage them to showcase it in their library, so that their children may one day read it and understand what an Amazin year we had.

Greg Prince has an encyclopedic knowledge of the Mets (as proven by the pages detailing how the Mets turned Jon Matlack into David Wright), and an authentic passion for the team. This is not a behind-the-scenes tell all, and it doesn't feature any player interviews. Instead, what you will get is end to end coverage of the games and storylines that made up this special season. As a die-hard Mets fan - yes, I watched games in 1962 - I didn't need to relive the 2015 season. I had watched most of the games, lived and died with their winning and losing streaks. But I thoroughly enjoyed Greg Prince's happy recap (well, happy except for the last couple of games). Prince writes about the Mets' re-emergence as a contender with great passion, occasional anguish, and especially wit. He brings back plays I'd forgotten and gives fresh analysis and appreciation for the plays I remember. A quick and breezy read, but a fun one for any Mets fan.

As a lifelong Mets fan, I appreciated Greg's smart, passionate take on a time when we often believed the pennant, let alone the playoffs, may not be in the cards. As I read the pages, I found myself transported back a year and felt the emotions of that day, week, or month. Wilmer's tears, Cespedes' Ruthian August, the Four Horsemen of Flushing, and Oh, Murph. Even if the Mets don't return to the post-season in 2016 (wait, they BETTER!), Greg's book is one you'll want to have so you can see how fans REALLY viewed the 2015 Mets. It doesn't hurt that Mets radio voice Howie Rose provided the forward. Simply Amazin', Greg!
